Requirements: á Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience or a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience á Professional Engineering License or Professional Certification required á Background to include project work and process knowledge in domestic and/or international governmental (municipal/state/USAID/U.S. Dept. of State/Dept. of Defense/GSA), international commercial, international humanitarian, K-12 education, and traditional delivery and design-build experience, along with the ability to accept and travel for domestic and international project assignments á Proficiency in AutoCAD/Microstation, word processing and spreadsheet management programs with working knowledge of applicable codes Job Responsibilities: á Acts as lead engineer on DOD projects. á Performs site visits for documentation and cost estimating of existing systems and building conditions. á On site assignments for both domestic and international projects. á Coordinates system layout and drawings with other disciplines. á Performs Mechanical load calculations and develops appropriate system concepts and layouts. á Designs Mechanical systems, including calculations and cost estimating under the supervision of a Senior Mechanical Engineer. á Prepares technical specifications. á Reviews and evaluates shop drawings and product submittals. á Visits construction sites to inspect work in progress or completed. á Mentors Mechanical Designers. á Review and respond to DOD RFP's in regard to mechanical scope. Prepares Design Analysis and Engineering Reports. á Completes complex and specialty types of design. á Assists Senior Mechanical Engineers in developing/maintaining department standards. á Participates in a professional organization. á Stays abreast of technical advancements in respective field and disseminates information to staff. á Additional duties as assigned by the Department Head, or Director of Engineering. Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct and supervise Mechanical Designers as assigned. May occasionally direct duties of other Mechanical Engineers as assigned.
