Job Description:
Tetra Tech is a multi-disciplinary firm of consulting environmental scientists and engineers with offices throughout the United States. We are seeking a junior-level Civil Engineer with a background in site development, water resources, or geotechnical engineering to join our new Grand Junction, Colorado office and become an integral member of our design team, providing both office and field support for our regional clients, as well as supporting international mining projects.
Responsibilities:
Use AutoCAD LDD or Civil 3D (preferred) to perform facility layouts including roads, water distribution, sewage collection, and stormwater drains, grading plans, material balances and quantity takeoffs, design analyses for water conveyance systems including pump stations, geotechnical analyses, technical report and design plan/specification preparation under direct PM supervision and guidance. Perform field sampling and construction oversight support for a variety of projects. Up to 25% travel required.
Experience: One to three years of relevant experience. Strong technical capabilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good work ethic and positive attitude. EIT desirable, willingness to get PE desired.
Skills Requirements: Willing and able to use AutoCAD LDD or Civil 3D (preferred) as a design tool. GeoSlope geotechnical software, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, WaterCAD, StormCAD, Culvert Master, spreadsheets and word processing skills also preferred. Ability to write clear and logical technical reports. Must have a valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally and internationally.
Degree Requirements: Minimum B.S. in Civil Engineering or related (geological or mining) engineering discipline.
