The Owings Mills, MD office performs applied research for EPA, state and local agencies, private foundations, and private industry. We are leaders in the development and application of biological assessment and monitoring tools for aquatic resource management, and are currently seeking an entry-level environmental scientist with ecological training or experience.
Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be able to significantly contribute to projects such as:
á Ecological surveys for water resource condition assessments
á Fish tissue contaminant surveys
á Watershed assessments
á Laboratory processing and sorting of biological samples
á Laboratory toxicity tests
á Water quality and storm-event sampling
Job Requirements:
Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, biology, or a related discipline and less than two years of applicable experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for field, laboratory, warehouse, and office tasks under the supervision of a senior environmental scientist. Experience with biological sampling, laboratory support, data entry, and data management are preferred. The successful candidate must: have strong attention to detail; be well organized; be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines; and have solid field, lab, administrative, and communication skills.
