ENTRY-LEVEL ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST/ENGINEER: Duluth, GA Job Code: EMI-D4-34-DLS Division: EMI % of Travel Required: Yes Career Level: Entry Level Education: Bachelor's Degree Category: Science Job Description: Tetra Tech EM Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech, is currently seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist or Engineer to work in our Duluth, GA location. The Candidate will provide technical support for U.S. EPA contracts in the areas of hazardous waste site remediation and characterization. Specific responsibilities will include field sampling, data review and analysis, database management, and report preparation. Candidates will also provide support, and/or lead a wide variety of environmental projects for DoD and private sector clients in addition to those for the U.S. EPA. Frequent travel is required, and candidates can often expect up to 3 weeks per month on the road. Additionally, when not traveling, candidate is expected to occasionally maintain on-call readiness on a 24-hour basis for up to 2 weeks at a time for IMMEDIATE deployment to environmental emergencies. Job Requirements: This is an entry-level position requiring 0 to 2 years of experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software required. Experience with Microsoft Access preferred. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, adapt to shifting schedules, be a quick learner, and perform well in adverse weather and hazardous work environments with little direct supervision. B.A./B.S. degree in Physical Sciences or Engineering is required, with a preference for environmental science, geology, biology, or chemistry disciplines.
