Job Description:
This position will involve technical support for a broad range of environmental projects. The position will primarily support Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) remedial investigation (RI) and feasibility study (FS) projects; but will also include preparation of Massachusetts Contingency Plan deliverables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide technical support for Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study projects as well as support related marketing and business development activities.
* Provide technical support for conceptual design for the remediation of contaminated sites.
* Prepare cost estimates for remedial alternatives.
* Plan and implement multimedia field investigations.
* Report writing and preparation.
* Assist in the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
* Provide technical assistance to other projects and proposal efforts when requested.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental, civil, geotechnical, chemical, or related engineering plus 3 to 10 years of relevant experience. PE or EIT registration is desirable. Experience in conducting RI/FS under CERCLA, field investigations, environmental assessments (Phase I, II, and III), conceptual design, cost estimating, data evaluation, or report preparation. Direct DOD experience a plus. Excellent organizational and communication skills are required. Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations such as CERCLA, RCRA, SARA, etc. is a plus. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
