Job Description:

SUMMARY: This position provides technical support to Environmental Engineering Department in Delaware. Primary activities will be to provide technical support to other senior staff for environmental engineering and design related projects with public and private clients. Report to Department Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

á Manage engineering and design tasks related to water, wastewater, and groundwater treatment. Must be experienced in treatment remedies.

á Develop construction drawings, technical and construction specifications and cost estimates related to above projects.

á Prepare feasibility study report to develop and evaluate various treatment options and related cost estimate.

á Develop and write technical reports in a professional manner.

á Must be able to function with little direction to meet project goals. Must be able to take conceptual direction for project tasks and developed detail plans to complete task.

á Assist managers in preparing proposals and successfully complete projects in accordance with the proposal schedule and budget.

á Provide direction to designers and other support staff personnel to complete project tasks.

á Interface with Client Project Managers, government regulators, other contractors and other representatives.

á Periodic travel to locations within the continental United States.

á Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering required; advanced degree such as a Masters is a plus. A 1-3 years of related experience is required. Candidates must have design experience in water/wastewater treatment projects. Knowledge of environmental regulations, CERCLA, Superfund, HSCA, and RCRA is a plus.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Candidates must have a broad knowledge of numerous conventional and innovative treatment processes for water, wastewater and groundwater. Candidates must possess knowledge to develop process flow diagrams, equipment selection and layout, cost estimate, and treatment equipment specifications. Candidates must be self-motivated, creative and have strong organizational, inter-personal communication, writing and presentation skills. Computer skills must include MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of Auto CADD and GIS Arcview is a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Engineer-in-training (EIT) is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform routine engineering design calculations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
