Responsibilities:
The Wilmington, NC office of ECS seeks an assistant branch manager. You will have a background in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing or environmental science/engineering. You will be a licensed professional engineer or registered professional geologist with 10+ years experience in your respective field. You will be an accomplished technical professional, plus have proven leadership abilities and skills in marketing and business development. You will have had P&L responsibility - at least at the department management level. Upon Board approval, you will become a Principal Engineer/Scientist.

In this position you will work closely with the branch manager to expand the firms presence in the local market. You will be involved with client development; and also lead and mentor a team of geotechnical engineers, environmental scientists and project managers. Depending on your background you may also oversee and be involved in field services projects and review reports, prepare proposals for geotechnical and/or environmental services or construction materials testing projects, and assist in maintaining regular client interactions. As the market rebounds, it is anticipated that this position will evolve into that of the branch manager with full profit and loss responsibility for the office.

Qualifications:
BS required in civil engineering, environmental science or a related field; MS degree desired.
10+ years of experience in geotechnical, materials testing or environmental engineering.
Must be a licensed/registered professional as a Professional Engineer or a Professional Geologist, or be capable of obtaining local licensure within six months following date of hire.
Ability to lead a team in an expanding market area.
Proven marketing and business development skills.
Strong project management and communication skills.
