CONSTRUCTION MANAGER/RESIDENT ENGINEER: Golden, CO Requisition Number 08-0172 Description The National Surface Water Resources Program at Kleinfelder, an ENR Top 100 design firm, with offices throughout the United States, is soliciting candidates for the Construction Manager/Resident Engineer (CM/RM) position. Specific experience should include civil, geotechnical, structural, hydrologic, hydraulic, and geological construction associated with planning, design, and construction of water resources projects including dams, levees, spillways, outlet works, penstocks, intake towers, and water conveyance facilities. The CM/RE oversees the field staff efforts on a project to ensure quality construction, meet the design intent in a cost effective fashion, on schedule and with minimum practicable impact to the local environment and community. The CM/RE administers construction contracts and has the technical skills to interpret the drawings and specifications and resolve typical field problems. The CM/RE responds to situations requiring immediate action, informs the Client of potential liability and recommends a course of action if appropriate. Requirements 5-7 years of experience on heavy civil or large scale commercial/industrial projects with value greater than $500,000. Must be capable of managing multiple priorities and project staff of 3-10 personnel. Experience with managing procurement from prime and subcontractors on a project and driving schedules to completion a plus. Position requires experience in construction cost accounting, risk identification, and change order management. Experience with various project management and analysis software (Primavera, SureTrak, and MS Project), Excel, Word, and others as appropriate. Must be experienced in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications of multiple craft disciplines. Must have strong communication, management, and leadership skills and a commitment to effective project delivery, and client satisfaction. Must be willing to travel. Position maybe located in Denver, Oakland, Charlotte. Education B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required. MS Degree and professional registration preferred.
