STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES: Golden, CO Requisition Number 08-0176 Description The National Surface Water Resources Program at Kleinfelder, an ENR Top 100 design firm, with offices throughout the United States, is soliciting candidates for the Structural Engineer position. Work conducted in the program includes civil, geotechnical, structural, hydrologic, hydraulic, and geological engineering associated with safety evaluations, planning, design, and construction of water resources projects including dams, levees, spillways, outlet works, penstocks, intake towers, and water conveyance facilities. The Structural Engineer will provide design and engineering services for the Surface Water Resources Program nationwide. Duties may include: performs specific engineering or scientific work on client projects including: preparing complex plans, reports, specifications, analyses and calculations. Independently evaluate, select and recommend techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform technical tasks, field tasks, studies and analysis. Develops and maintains client relationships. Requirements 5-15 years of progressive engineering experience in the evaluation, design and construction of concrete dams and appurtenant structures (spillways, outlet works, diversion dams, pipelines, penstocks), canals, and tunnels. Must be capable of performing structural engineering evaluations and analyses, including the performance of advanced static and seismic structural analyses, and thermal evaluation of existing dams and complex reinforced concrete hydraulic structures. Position requires experience in the development of design documents; cost estimating; and providing engineering support during construction. Experience and/or knowledge with Risk and Failure Modes Assessments also desired. Advanced numerical and thermal modeling, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and others as appropriate. Must have good communication, and organizational skills, effective project delivery abilities, and be committed to client satisfaction. Must be willing to travel. Position may be located in Denver, CO; Colorado Springs, CO; or Redlands, CA Education Minimum MS Civil/Structural Engineering, professional engineering registration is required. California SE license preferred but not required.
