Description
Kleinfelder's Santa Rosa office has an immediate need for a Senior Environmental Geologist or Engineer to provide a high level of technical competency for a diversity of project opportunities in addition to mentoring junior staff.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with the industry's best, tackling technical challenges on mid- to large-scale projects. Examples of the diversity of environmental projects in the Santa Rosa office include CEQA and Title 22 environmental compliance for the re-opening of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad from Napa to Eureka, a major diesel release site that threatens Santa Rosa creek adjacent to the City Hall, investigation and mitigation of naturally occurring asbestos on two proposed school sites in Napa, and lead-contamination remediation at the Golden Gate bridge seismic retrofit project. The successful candidate will participate in nationwide professional groups within Kleinfelder which will allow for accelerated technical expertise development in areas of choice. This same nationwide involvement will also allow for career advancement as technical knowledge is gained and further utilized.

The ideal candidate must have at least 8 years experience managing a diverse array of environmental projects such as Phase I site assessments, soil and groundwater investigations, regulatory compliance, asbestos and lead-based paint, and environmental documentation under CEQA, as well as the ability to provide high-end technical support on diverse complex environmental projects. As a senior technical resource and role model, this position requires a positive attitude and an ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and junior staff. Strong technical and project management skills, and the ability to foresee and solve technical, regulatory, and public issues is a must.

A BS from an accredited college/university with a major in geology or engineering is required, and an MS is preferred. Professional Registration (PG or PE) or the ability to obtain registration in the State of California within 3 months is very desirable.

Requirements
6-8 years of related experience, 4-5 years project management experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required. 1-2 years supervisory/management experience required. Certifications or registrations as mandated by profession. Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; Knowledge of designated IS systems and databases preferred. Good communication skills and knowledge of company products and operations.

Education
Bachelor of Science, Engineering or related technical field required.
