AREA MANAGER: Tulsa, OK Requisition Number 08-0259 Description Kleinfelder's Great Plains Region has an opening for the Area Manager position for their Tulsa, Oklahoma office. Our Oklahoma operations have a successful 10-year history of providing exceptional service to a wide variety of public and private sector clients. The Oklahoma operations cover a diverse range of professional services including environmental and geotechnical engineering, materials testing/inspection, and environmental permitting & planning. The Oklahoma office has a well balanced workload of public and private contracts. Duties for the Oklahoma Area Manager are: * Lead and develop the strengths of a well established 30 person office * Work closely with the Regional Manager to develop implement, execute and support the strategic plan for the Area * Make key hires, mentor/develop staff and provide succession planning at all levels * Responsible for client selection, business development, project delivery/management, health and safety, loss prevention and quality programs. Requirements 8-9 years of proven experience managing in a civil engineering/geosciences firm with an emphasis in geotechnical or environmental field; 5-6 years of designated professional experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required. Requires strong leadership skills and enthusiasm for helping others reach their potential. In addition, the qualified candidate must at a minimum possess the following key criteria for the position: * Commitment to health & safety, quality services and staff development * Strong understanding of our business including people management, strategic planning, operations, administration, business development and finance * Knowledge of the regional marketplace. Education Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or related field required. Masters degree or equivalent desired.
