ENERGY MASTER PLANNER 6: New Orleans, LA Requisition ID: 9627BR Job Description: CDM has an immediate need in its New Orleans, LA office for an Energy Master Planner with project management, energy efficiency, alternative energy and greenhouse gas experience. The Energy Master Planner will focus on renewable energy and energy optimization projects and will perform energy audits. As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM's mission by: * Responsible for execution of energy management projects, including energy auditing, energy modeling for building design, renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, and greenhouse gas management projects. * Perform studies and analysis to achieve cost effective and reliable technical solutions for clients. * Design energy management plans/programs, greenhouse gas management, climate change action plans, for variety of clients. * Lead teams to conduct energy audits, energy efficiency evaluations, greenhouse gas inventories and studies, and implementation of energy master plans, and energy efficiency projects. * Work closely with clients primarily in the public sector: municipal facilities, water, wastewater, solid waste facilities, airports, universities. * Work with clients to help them win grants, save money, and become sustainability leaders. * Support delivery of projects on schedule, within budget, and of excellent quality. * Conduct research in problem areas of energy efficiency and renewable/alternative energy. * Keep abreast of developments affecting CDM in order to recommend changes to current programs or new programs. * Manage large projects or large phases of projects, including working proactively with diverse groups of technical professionals, municipal managers and the public. * Conduct project administration, including preparing and monitoring budget and schedule, preparing correspondence, and participating in general office duties). * Support CDM's business goals in new business development, project management, and staff utilization. Serve as a mentor for lower-level employees and as a recognized leader of technical and professional staff. * Serve as a Leader in CDM's Integrated Energy Management practice. Job Requirements: * 10 - 13 years of experience (since Bachelor's degree) in energy analysis, planning and/or engineering. * Membership in at least one national professional society required. * Bachelor's degree in arts, planning, engineering, or a science required. Master's degree in planning, engineering, science, or environmental science/ management preferred. * Certification or Master's degree in specialty field is required (where Certification is not applicable).
